Class will begin with a few minutes of centering, breathing exercises, and gentle movements to wake up your body and mind, and ease into the new day. This will be followed by a sequence of yoga poses which will stretch and strengthen the body. Standing and seated poses will be included, and the use of props or modifications will be demonstrated as needed. Class will end with a deep rest in savasana. Sunrise Yoga is appropriate for all levels of practice, and beginners are welcome. Come join us, and leave class feeling energized for the rest of your day. Ashtanga Yoga (Erica) Wednesdays 6:30-8:00 pm Use class card or $15 drop-in Ashtanga Primary Series consists of a sequence of predetermined poses synchronized with the breath. This is an athletic practice which builds strength, flexibility, and stamina. Class begins with sun salutations, followed by a standing sequence, then moves to seated poses, backbends, and inversions. We incorporate ujjayi pranayama (breathing) and drishti (focused gaze) to enhance the meditative aspects of the practice. Practice always ends with savasana. All levels of yoga experience are welcome. Appropriate for people in good physical health. |
