Space Use Policy for the Yoga Loft(approved by the Board 12/2007) Except for special cases (such as to introduce a new type of class), space at the Yoga Loft is assigned in the following order: 1) established instructors--with preference given to instructors who have larger numbers of students, 2) new instructors, 3) practitioners, 4) guest users. The Yoga Loft Board reserves the right to change the priorities of use and to restrict or cancel usage privileges when it deems it necessary. Instructors Definition: An instructor is one who holds class sessions or workshops at the Yoga Loft. These classes are taught in accordance with the mission of our organization. Each instructor determines his or her own class fees and requests space at the Yoga Loft by the 15 th of the month prior to the start each of the seasonal Yoga Loft periods: Winter (January, February, March, April); Spring/Summer (May, June, July, August); Fall (September, October, November, December). The usage fee for an instructor is 30% of his or her incomefrom classes or workshops at the Yoga Loft. This fee is applied to facilities, administrative, and programming costs (which includes a listing in the seasonal Yoga Loft brochure, on the web site, and other advertising). Fees are due two weeks after the end of the last class of each session, or two weeks after the end of a workshop. To arrange to teach at the Yoga Loft, new instructors must first confer with the Administrative Consultant. New instructors must 1) have their request to teach at the Yoga Loft approved by the Program Committee of the Board, 2) receive an orientation tour of the Yoga Loft facilities, 3) sign and return the Letter of Agreement for Instructors. Practitioners Definition: Practitioners are generally massage therapists, counselors, consultants, etc., who conduct one-on-one or small group sessions. Their practice at the Yoga Loft must be conducted in accordance with the mission of our organization. Practitioners set their own rates for their practice and do all their own advertising. Practitioners may make space requests at any time by contacting the President of the Board. The usage fee for practitioners is 10% of the practitioner's fee. The usage fee is due at the end of each week of usage. Extensions of this due date may be negotiated with the Administrative Consultant; in this case, payments must still be made at least twice a month. If use of the Yoga Loft facility is terminated, payment is due on the last day of usage To arrange to practice at the Yoga Loft, new practitioners must first contact the President of the Board. New practitioners must 1) have their request to practice at the Yoga Loft approved by the Program Committee of the Board, 2) receive an orientation tour of the Yoga Loft facilities, 3) sign and return the Letter of Agreement for Practitioners. Guest Users Definition: Guests are generally any one person or small group who desires a comfortable quiet setting in an atmosphere supportive of personal growth. Guest usage should be commensurate with the mission of the Yoga Loft. Guestswho wish to use the Yoga Loft space must first contact the President of the Board. The one-time usage fee of the Loft area (up to 8 hours of use) is $10/hr (capped at $40). One-time guest users who themselves charge a fee will be considered instructors or practitioners, as appropriate, and they will pay the same usage fee as does an instructor or practitioner (see above). Guest users who cannot afford these fees are invited to negotiate a lesser fee or make an offer of payment "in kind," i.e. offer their services to clean, make repairs, etc. The usage fee is due no later than one week after the day of use. Before being granted guest privileges, all guests must: 1) have their request for use of Yoga Loft space approved by the Program Committee of the Board, 2) receive an orientation tour of the Yoga Loft facilities, 3) sign and return a copy of the Letter of Agreement for Guest Users.
