In this class,we will flow through breath synchronized movement into asanas (poses) that we will hold and breathe through. This class will help to increase strength, muscle tone, flexibility, balance and endurance, while releasing toxins, relaxing the mind and clearing blockages of energy flow throughout the body. We will incorporate chanting, meditation, breathwork and movement. This yoga is for everybody! All levels welcome. The use of props and variations will be encouraged to make poses accessible to all. :-) ## *Yoga Meets Playgroup (Lori) meets at the Canton Rec Pavilion, 90 Lincoln St, Canton, upstairs Tuesdays 8:30-9:45am. This Hatha yoga class is for parents and caregivers. Bring your baby, toddler or young child along with you. Lori will teach a class that will cultivate flexibility, strength and stress release to the adults while the children play. There will be toys, books and a climbing area in the room so we can see and hear our little ones explore their practice through play, while we practice yoga :) This class is suitable for the beginner and experienced yogi alike! *Yoga for Strength and Toning Wednesdays 8:30-9:45am A moderate flow class, with mindfulness to posture and alignment for best results in building strength. We will utilize repetition for toning. Props will be used to assist. All levels are welcome. Expect to build heat internally. *Hatha Yoga (Ellie/Lori) Thursdays 5:30-6:45pm Ellie and Lori take turns teaching this moderately energetic class which focuses on classic yoga postures and sequences coordinated with mindful breathing. Each class begins with a meditative warm-up, continues with a sequence of yoga postures, and closes with a guided relaxation to bring deep stress relief. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art combining movement and music in the form of dance-fighting, which increases balance, agility, and strength. Originally created by slaves in Brazil as a way to fight oppression, Capoeira passes on its history through music. All classes begin with low-impact exercises that help participants warm up by gradually increasing heart rate and stretching muscles. After learning various offensive kicks and defensive escapes, participants practice these movements with a partner. Capoeira is perfect for people of all ages who are interested in a good workout that will enrich their life with live music, Brazilian culture, and positive social interaction. |
